I've been playing Sporcle for maybe two years now and have really been enjoying it. I really enjoy the daily games. Some of them you could go back and play past daily games. You COULD. Now you need to subscribe and pay $5.99 + tax to do anything like that. Also, now if I want to play a daily game I have to sit through an ad. Imagine playing games you like for a year for free, then all of a sudden you need to pay to play game right away or sit through a minute long ad.
I'm so disappointed in this app. I've been playing sporcle before it was even a phone app. It's something I love doing with a group of friends. I've had both versions of this app. I hated when they added the ads but they jumped on the bandwagon like everyone else and its whatever. Now, it's ridiculous. I willingly go to watch an ad to play a certain quiz and the ad won't even load. I'm so bummed to lose a favorite past time but it's not even worth it.
I usually dont bother downloading any apps that have ads because it's never really worth the intrusion but this is different. The ads don't show up after EVERY quiz more like every 5 or so. And you can skip after 5-10secs. If you like the website then the app's great. My only issue is that some puzzle types dont translate to mobile well as it will cut out any instructions in the puzzle itself by forcing open your keyboard. Edit: 3/5 bc they ads are still annoying even if they aren't frequent
What the hell did they do to rhe app? It takes 1-2 minutes to even load, every click on something goes back to a spinning icon for another minute or two. It is essentially unusable. The old app might have took a few seconds to load. Whatever you did, it was the wrong choice. Been a member since 2007 and am an Orange member (or guess I should say I was since it looks like mine didn't transfer over either) and I'm about to never touch the app again it's so bad.
The previous app was so much better. This one is barely functional... I paid on the last one to have ads removed and now they're back, it's constantly saying its not connected to the Internet even though it is, and is slow and glitchy. I can't get through a single typing quiz without serious lag- and I'm sorry but lag on a single player typing quiz game??? that's too much. I'm so upset they took my favorite game app and made it unplayable
